The INEXPERIENCE of the athlete was the cause of this accident. The problem was not the course but the holes in the rules that let athletes from small countries be able to qualify for olympics with little experience.Its like Formula 1 racing, chances are if you put an amateur with little pr no experience on the wheel of a racing car that goes 300km/h, you will get a fatal accident, no matter how safe the course is.

Nah, because in EVERY luge competition, someone falls like this and goes out of control. If you're going to put metal load-bearing poles there, it should stand to reason that something obstructing the athletes from the pole in a VERY foreseeable spill that happens all the time might be a good idea. In fact, so much so that it could be considered a legal liability by way of negligence or reckless disregard.
